Choose coloured contact lenses in two stages: first choose a lens that is professionally fitted to your eyes and prescription, then choose the colour and visual effect you want.
1. Start with fit and prescription
- Use a current contact-lens prescription. A glasses prescription does not include all the information needed to fit contact lenses.
- Match the prescribed power, base curve and other specifications. Do not assume a popular base curve or diameter will fit everyone.
- Plano (0.00) means no vision correction; it does not remove the need for a safe fitting. In the United States, decorative plano lenses also require a prescription.
- If you have astigmatism, dry eye, recent eye surgery or another eye condition, ask your eye-care professional which lens design is appropriate before ordering.
2. Understand the product specifications

Natural enhancement
Look for a softly blended, multi-tone pattern and a subtle limbal ring. Start with natural coloured contact lenses or GEO Eyevelyn.
Dolly-eye definition

Bold colour change
More opaque patterns generally create stronger contrast, particularly on dark irises. Browse blue, green, grey and purple coloured lenses.
4. Consider your natural eye colour
- Dark brown eyes: more opaque patterns and defined limbal rings usually create the most visible change. Brown and grey can look softer; blue, green and violet create more contrast.
- Light brown or hazel eyes: multi-tone brown, green and grey patterns can blend naturally, while cooler colours create stronger contrast.
- Blue, grey or green eyes: lower-opacity patterns may blend with the iris; warmer brown or hazel shades can create a noticeable change.
The final appearance varies with iris colour, lighting, pupil size and the exact print pattern. Product photography is a guide, not a guarantee of an identical result.
5. Check care and replacement before buying
